Roscommon County Central Dispatch
Roscommon County 911 was established in the early 1990s following the Michigan Emergency Telephone Service Enabling Act of 1986. Community leaders and public safety partners recognized the need for a centralized system to improve response times and coordination during emergencies.
What began as a small dispatch center with basic radio systems has steadily evolved into a modern communications hub. In 1997, the county introduced Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), streamlining call handling and recordkeeping. By the early 2000s, enhanced 911 services provided dispatchers with precise caller location, further strengthening response efforts. Over the years, continued technology upgrades have improved interoperability, ensuring seamless communication between police, fire, EMS, and regional partners.
Today, Roscommon County 911 combines advanced systems with highly trained professionals to deliver reliable, compassionate, and effective emergency communications.
